Join us for this special program of the Africa Discussion Group!
 
The opening session of the United Nations annual General Assembly (UNGA) begins next week in New York. Amb.(ret.) Gerald Scott will join us to discuss how the U.S. Mission to the UN organizes and operates for exchanges with African country missions during the period from September-December.  
 
Gerald joined the Foreign Service in 1969, served in Tangier, Gabon, Vietnam, desk officer for Somalia, USUN AF political affairs, DCM Swaziland, Political Counselor and DCM Zaire, Political Counselor Kenya, Ambassador to Gambia, and faculty member at the Naval War College. After retiring, Ambassador Scott spent nine years at USUN during the September-December UNGA as the Senior Political Advisor for relations with African member States.

The DACOR cash bar opens at 12 noon and the group moves to a reserved table at Members' Lunch at 12:30 pm. Attendees have the option of participating in the Members' Lunch for $35, or joining the discussion group without eating (no charge). Registrations are required for all participants. 

Members' Lunch for $35 includes a biscuit/bread, two courses, and a cup of coffee/tea. Wine and other beverages may be purchased at the bar or at the table.
