Join Jared Hughes, the DACOR Bacon House Foundation's Director of Development, for a series of engaging information sessions designed to enhance our members understanding of planned giving. The sessions will focus on various aspects of estate planning. The sessions will cover a range of topics put in layman's terms that can benefit our members, their families and the DACOR Bacon House Foundation.
Session #2 focuses on döständning, Swedish death cleaning. Gifts of Tangible Personal Property and how they can benefit DACOR. We’ve all said it: “I’m trying to get RID of stuff!” “My kids don’t want all this stuff!” “What am I going to DO with all this STUFF?? It’s overwhelming!” I am downsizing and moving to a retirement community /
apartment / our vacation home – I don’t know where to start. Did you know that the bulk of furnishings in the DACOR Bacon House have been donated either during the donor’s lifetime or by their heirs – everything from an elephant foot umbrella stand to 19th Century Samurai Swords. Learn about our Gift Acceptance Policy, our eBay storefront, our acquisition and accession policies for the museum’s permanent collection and our practical use collection and the exciting win-win of estate liquidation for the mutual benefit of the Foundation and your peace of mind and sanity knowing you and your kids won’t have to worry about all the stuff you aren’t taking with you.
