Music of the Feminine Spheres II - Heard But Not Seen: Piano & Oboe Duo
3:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Hanchien Lee, piano, and  Katherine Needleman, oboe, present the second in our new series on Women Composers. Seven artists are featured: we will hear three Romances by Clara Schumann (1819-1896), and, by the young Alyssa Morris (b.1984), "Four Personalities... Yellow, White, Blue and Red." The five other composers are Vivian Fine (1913-2000), Marina Dranishnikova (1929-94), Thea Musgrave (b. 1928), Jean Coulthard (1908-2000) and Hsu Chiayu (b. 1976). Ms. Needleman is principal oboist with the Baltimore Symphony, and Ms. Lee, a graduate of the Curtis Institute, earned her doctorate in Musical Arts from Peabody Conservatory, and teaches at Carnegie Mellon University.

Please join us to welcome the Spring season with works composed for this unusual combination of instruments. Tea & sherry are served at intermission.
