Perfect for your home or as a gift, this year's DACOR Bacon House Ornament features our door from the Tangier American Legation. As the first country to recognize the nascent U.S.A., the first legation of the U.S. was in Tangier. Gifted to the U.S. by Morocco, the Legation building is the only National Historic Landmark of the U.S. in a foreign country. During modern renovations, the legation building had one of its historic doors removed. A DACOR member was supervising the site and brought the door back to the U.S. and donated it to DACOR.

This metal ornament is double sided - on one side is a rendition of our door and on the other the logo of the Tangier American Legation Institute for Moroccan Studies (the current resident of the Legation building). Each ornament comes with a storage box and information about the image.
